Wait wait, Crance. You think? What's holding you back? Or did you mean that you know it's rad? I'm just confused by your comment, that's all. Let me know when the final verdict is in!

HUGE News from Mötley Crüe
By The Rockvine
Mötley Crüe day is declared - Young Band's Get a Break - Tommy Lee Gets Nun Bread

Just outside the Hollywood Rock Walk at the famed Guitar Center in Hollywood (celebrating 44 years tomorrow), a few hundred loyal Mötley Crüe fans ditched work for some historic announcements from the boys themselves. For those of you who weren't lucky enough to be there, we're here to give you the run-down.

First and foremost, the Crüe announced their partnership with the brand new, Guitar Center On-Stage campaign to host a contest powered by FameCast. The competition, dubbed "Make Rock History" allows young bands to submit their material to be judged by a panel including 10th Street Entertainment, Eleven Seven Music and, of course, the Crüe themselves. The winner of the contest receives the grand prize of the opening spot on Mötley Crüe's 2009 US tour. The winner also receives prizes including $25,000 cash, $20,000 in gear from Gibson, a record deal with Eleven Seven music and a management deal with 10th Street Entertainment.

Norman Hajjar, EVP of Guitar Center and Chief Marketing Officer introduced the concept as a step forward in the company's history supporting young artists - he referred to the program as "the most audacious and ambitious thing we've done."

Chris Taylor Brown of Trapt was also on site to talk about his experience on the current tour. About the contest, Brown said "There's a band that's going to have a chance to do what we're doing opening up for Motley Crue and you can't really ask for anything more than that."

Trapt can currently be seen on Crüe Fest and their new album is available in stores this Tuesday, August 5th.

Representatives of the city of Los Angeles were on-hand to declare today, July 31st, "Mötley Crüe - Saints of Los Angeles Day." As a special "thank you" the band was given certificates and drummer, Tommy Lee, was handed a loaf of bread baked by the nuns who live near the Hollywood sign - an LA city representative said "This bread was made for you, our Angels in the city of Angels."
