Nightwish Live at the Wiltern
By The Rockvine
Scoob got the chance to check out Nightwish after his interview with Tuomas.
Nightwish was AMAZING! They not only owned the stage but they knew how to work it. They embraced the fans and captured their attention. The band’s every move was planned out, from where they stood, to the lighting to when and how they moved around the stage. Nightwish did not do anything new onstage other than put on a perfectly planned out performance designed to make the audience feel like an integral part of the show and that the band sincerely cared about them.

I was truly inspired by them. Nightwish's energy level never dropped. Songs performed from the band’s newest CD, “Dark Passion Play,” included the set’s opener “Bye Bye Beautiful,” “Eva,” the epic track “The Poet and the Pendulum,” which clocks in at over 10 minutes in length. The band performed the CD’s ballad “The Islander,” and “7 Days to the Wolves.” Songs from the bands previous catalog included, “Dark Chest of Wonders,” “Wishmaster,” and the closer for the night, “Wish I Had an Angel.”
Nightwish’s new vocalist Anette Olzon has a voice that definitely can hang with the group’s previous vocalist Tarja. On the band’s older songs, Anette brought her voice to a new level keeping the songs spirit alive and staying true to what Tarja had brought to the group.

Nightwish has been on tour for over 2 years now. Every night is the same. It's all about the show and they know how to work the stage and the crowd. This band is phenomenal live and they take their songs to a whole new level on stage. Definitely check Nightwish out while they are here in America.
